Vane Pump (For Kd Series Engine) Disassembly


  1. FIX VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE PRESSURE PORT UNION SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE FLOW CONTROL VALVE

  4. REMOVE REAR VANE PUMP HOUSING

  5. REMOVE VANE PUMP ROTOR

  6. REMOVE VANE PUMP CAM RING

  7. REMOVE FRONT VANE PUMP SIDE PLATE

  8. REMOVE VANE PUMP GEAR

  9. REMOVE VANE PUMP SHAFT BEARING

  10. REMOVE VANE PUMP HOUSING OIL SEAL

Vane Pump (For Kd Series Engine) -- Disassembly


NOTICE:
When using a vise, do not overtighten it.


1. FIX VANE PUMP ASSEMBLY

  1. Using SST, fix the vane pump between aluminum plates in a vise, as shown in the illustration.

2. REMOVE PRESSURE PORT UNION SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the bolt and suction port union.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the suction port union.



3. REMOVE FLOW CONTROL VALVE

  1. Using a 27 mm socket wrench, remove the pressure port union from the front housing.

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the O-ring from the pressure port union.

  1. Remove the flow control valve from the front housing.

  1. Remove the compression spring from the front housing.



4. REMOVE REAR VANE PUMP HOUSING

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and rear housing.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the rear housing.



5. REMOVE VANE PUMP ROTOR
  1. Remove the 10 vane plates from the vane pump rotor.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to drop the vane plates.
  1. Remove the vane pump rotor.



6. REMOVE VANE PUMP CAM RING


7. REMOVE FRONT VANE PUMP SIDE PLATE

  1. Remove the side plate from the front housing.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the side plate.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the front housing.



8. REMOVE VANE PUMP GEAR

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the snap ring.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a press, press the shaft (with gear and bearing) out of the front housing.

  1. Place a 12 mm socket wrench on the shaft.

  1. Using SST and a press, press the shaft out of the gear.

9. REMOVE VANE PUMP SHAFT BEARING

  1. Using SST and a press, press the shaft out of the bearing.

  1. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring from the shaft.



10. REMOVE VANE PUMP HOUSING OIL SEAL

  1. Using SST, remove the oil seal.
