Rear Speed Sensor Installation


  1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR CLAMP

  2. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH

  3. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH

  4. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

  5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  6. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

Rear Speed Sensor -- Installation



1. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR CLAMP


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50

  1. Install the skid control sensor clamp with the bolt.

    Torque:
    32 N*m{326 kgf*cm, 24 ft.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    Make sure the clamp rotation stopper touches the installation position.


2. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR RH


  1. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.


    Toyota Fortuner. Ggn50, 60 Kun51, 61 Tgn51 Lan50.Brake Control.Rear Speed Sensor.Rear Speed Sensor Installation

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. Make sure there are no pieces of iron or other foreign matter attached to the sensor tip.
    2. While inserting the speed sensor into the axle housing hole, do not strike or damage the sensor tip.
    3. After installing the speed sensor, make sure there is no clearance or foreign matter between the sensor stay part and the axle housing.

  1. Attach the 6 clamps.

    NOTICE:
    When attaching the clamps, do not twist the wire harness.

  1. Connect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    1. Pass the sensor connector between the brake tube and axle housing before connecting it to the wire harness connector on the vehicle.
    2. Securely connect the connector.
    3. When connecting the connector, do not twist the wire harness.

  1. Attach the connector to the skid control sensor clamp.



3. INSTALL REAR SPEED SENSOR LH


  1. Install the speed sensor with the bolt.

    Torque:
    8.5 N*m{87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. Make sure there are no pieces of iron or other foreign matter attached to the sensor tip.

    3. After installing the speed sensor, make sure there is no clearance or foreign matter between the sensor stay part and the axle housing.

  1. Attach the 3 clamps.

    NOTICE:
    When attaching the clamps, do not twist the wire harness.

  1. Connect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    1. Securely connect the connector.
    2. When connecting the connector, do not twist the wire harness.

  1. Attach the connector.



4. INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque:
105 N*m{1,071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf}


5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


6. CHECK SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

  1. w/ ABS:
    Check the speed sensor signal (Toyota Fortuner RM00000102M00BX.html).

  1. w/ VSC:
    Check the speed sensor signal (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHT08TX.html).
