  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH

  4. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER

  6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE

  7. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

Condenser (For Hatchback) -- Removal



1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  1. Start up the engine.

  1. A/C switch on.

  1. Turn the blower switch to on.

  1. Operate the cooler compressor with an engine speed of approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the remaining compressor oil from each component, in the cooler compressor.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Remove the caps from the service valves on the refrigerant line.

  1. Connect the refrigerant recovery unit.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the air conditioning system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

    HINT:
    Use the refrigerant recovery unit in accordance with the manufacturer's instruction manual.


2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.


4. REMOVE RADIATOR UPPER SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Disengage the 2 clamps and disconnect the hood lock control cable.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the radiator support.



5. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER COVER

  1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the cooler cover.



6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler condenser

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.


7. DISCONNECT AIR CONDITIONER TUBE AND ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the air conditioner tube and accessory from the cooler condenser.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the air conditioner tube and accessory.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent the entry of moisture and foreign matter.


8. REMOVE COOLER CONDENSER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disengage the 2 claws.

  1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the cooler condenser.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the condenser or radiator when removing the cooler condenser.
