Fuel Pump (For Sedan) Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD (for 60/40 Split Seat Type)

  2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD (for Fixed Seat Type)

  3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

  4. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

  5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  6. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE FUEL PUMP GAUGE RETAINER

  9. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY

Fuel Pump (For Sedan) -- Removal



1. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD (for 60/40 Split Seat Type)

  1. Hold the front edge of the rear seat cushion cover pad and lift it up, as shown in the illustration, to disengage the 2 hooks.

    NOTICE:
    Hold the area around the hooks so as to avoid deforming the rear seat cushion frame.
  1. Pass the rear seat inner belt through the slit in the rear seat cushion cover pad, disengage the hook between the rear seat cushion cover pad and the rear seatback, and remove the rear seat cushion cover pad.



2. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION COVER PAD (for Fixed Seat Type)

  1. Hold the front edge of the rear seat cushion cover pad and lift it up, as shown in the illustration, to disengage the 2 hooks.

    NOTICE:
    Hold the area around the hooks so as to avoid deforming the rear seat cushion frame.
  1. Pass the rear seat inner belt through the slit in the rear seat cushion cover pad, disengage the hook between the rear seat cushion cover pad and the rear seatback, and remove the rear seat cushion cover pad.



3. REMOVE REAR FLOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER

  1. Remove the rear floor service hole cover.

  1. Disconnect the fuel pump connector.



4. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
  1. Discharge the fuel system pressure (YARIS_NCP93 RM000001EEY03ZX.html).



5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


6. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Widen the tip of the tube joint clip and pull out the clip in the direction indicated by the arrow.

  1. Disconnect the fuel tank main tube.

    NOTICE:
    1. Keep the O-ring free of any foreign matter, as it becomes contaminated easily.
    2. Do not use any tools in this procedure.
    3. Do not forcefully bend or twist the tube.
    4. Put the tube in a plastic bag to prevent damage and contamination.
    5. If the fuel suction plate and tube are stuck together, pinch the tube and turn it carefully to disconnect them.
    6. Do not damage any clips. If a clip is damaged, replace it.


7. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK VENT HOSE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose.



8. REMOVE FUEL PUMP GAUGE RETAINER

  1. Using SST, remove the fuel pump gauge retainer.

    SST
    09808-14020(09808-01410,09808-01420,09808-01430)
    HINT:
    Align the claws of the fuel pump gauge retainer with the tips of SST.


9. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP AND GAUGE TUBE ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the fuel suction with pump and gauge tube.

    NOTICE:
    Do not bend the arm of the sender gauge.

  1. Remove the fuel suction tube gasket from the fuel tank.
