DESCRIPTION

Signals from the steering sensor (built into the spiral cable) are sent to the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) through CAN communication.

With the IG1 terminal voltage 9.5 to 17.4 V, the skid control ECU receives an error signal from the steering angle sensor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
HINT:
  1. When U0073, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with C1433, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0073, U0124 and/or U0126 first (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000YUO0EPX.html).
  2. When the speed sensor or the yaw rate and deceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) has trouble, DTCs for the steering angle sensor (spiral cable sub-assembly) may be output even when the steering angle sensor is normal. When DTCs for the speed sensor or yaw rate and deceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) are output together with DTCs for the steering angle sensor (spiral cable sub-assembly), inspect and repair the speed sensor and yaw rate and deceleration sensor (airbag sensor assembly) first, and then inspect and repair the steering angle sensor (spiral cable sub-assembly).
1.REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY)

  1. Replace the steering angle sensor (spiral cable sub-assembly) (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000V6R02BX.html).

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.
    2. When replacing the spiral cable sub-assembly, confirm that the replacement part is of the correct specification.
    HINT:
