Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  6. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  7. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY

Stereo Jack Adapter Assembly -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.


2. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. for Manual Transaxle:
    Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.

  1. for Automatic Transaxle:
    Twist the shift lever knob in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.



3. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the upper panel garnish.



4. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH

  1. Place protective tape as shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the upper panel garnish.



5. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 4 claws, and then remove the upper console panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


6. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips and 4 claws, and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Disconnect the connector.



7. REMOVE UPPER REAR CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the upper rear console panel.



8. REMOVE STEREO JACK ADAPTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the stereo jack adapter.
