DESCRIPTION
While the engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal ST1 of the ignition switch to the park/neutral position switch (for CVT) or clutch start switch (for Manual Transaxle) and also flows to terminal STA of the ECM (STA Signal).WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
- HINT:
- This chart is based on the premise that the engine can be cranked normally. If the engine does not crank normally, proceed to the Problem Symptoms Table (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000PDG0GRX.html).
1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (STARTER SIGNAL) |

Remove the ST relay from the No. 8 relay block (for RHD).
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition ST relay terminal 1 - A12-48 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω
- Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
