Camshaft Oil Control Valve Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER

  2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side)

  3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side)

Camshaft Oil Control Valve -- Removal



1. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Hold the rear of the cover and raise it to detach the 2 clips on the rear of the cover. Continue to raise the cover to detach the 2 clips on the front of the cover and remove the cover.

    NOTICE:
    Attempting to detach both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.


2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side)

  1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.

  1. Remove the bolt and oil control valve.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.



3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side)

  1. Disconnect the oil control valve connector.

  1. Remove the bolt, wire harness bracket and oil control valve.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the oil control valve.
