  1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL

  2. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL

Differential Side Gear Shaft Oil Seal -- Removal



1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Using a 10 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the rear differential drain plug and gasket, and drain the oil.

  1. Install a new gasket to the rear differential drain plug.

  1. Using a 10 mm socket hexagon wrench, install the rear differential drain plug and gasket.



2. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the differential carrier assembly (RAV4_ACA30 RM000002279003X.html).



3. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL SIDE GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL

  1. Using SST, tap out the 2 oil seals.
