Brake Actuator (W/O Vsc) Removal

Brake. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35
Brake Control. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 1AZ-FE)

  3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE)

  4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3ZR-FAE)

  5. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  6. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE

  7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

Brake Actuator (W/O Vsc) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 1AZ-FE)

  1. Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300NX.html).



3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2AZ-FE)

  1. Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300OX.html).



4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3ZR-FAE)

  1. Remove the air cleaner case (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PXM003X.html).



5. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.


6. DISCONNECT BRAKE LINE

  1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the actuator.

  1. Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.



7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

  1. Release the latch of the actuator connector and disconnect the connector.

  1. Disconnect the brake tube clamp from the bracket.



    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Remove the 3 nuts and actuator with bracket.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
