Radiator -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
| 2. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.
 |
Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.
Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the front battery bracket, and then remove the battery clamp.
| 3. REMOVE BATTERY |
Remove the battery and battery insulator.
| 4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER |
Remove the 2 bolts, 4 screw, 10 clips and under cover.
| 5. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT |
Loosen the radiator drain cock plug.
- HINT:
- Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.
Remove the radiator reservoir cap.
- CAUTION:
- Do not remove the radiator reservoir cap while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
Loosen the 2 cylinder block drain cock plugs.
| 6. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Detach the 3 clips and remove the V-bank cover.
 |
| 7. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER |
Remove the 9 clips and cover.
 |
| 8. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
 |
Remove the 3 bolts and 3 nuts.
Detach the 7 claws and guide, and remove the radiator grille.
 |
| 9. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK SWITCH ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the hood lock switch connector.
 |
Disconnect the wire from the clamp.
 |
Remove the 3 bolts and disconnect the hood lock switch assembly.
| 10. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Remove the No. 1 water by-pass hose from the radiator reservoir and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
| 11. REMOVE NO. 5 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Remove the No. 5 water by-pass hose from the radiator and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
| 12. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS PIPE |
Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 water by-pass pipe.
| 13. DISCONNECT COOLING FAN ECU HARNESS |
Disconnect the 2 cooling fan ECU connectors.
Detach the 3 harness clamps from the fan shroud and upper radiator support.
| 14. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT BRACKET |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator support brackets.
 |
| 15. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD |
Remove the 2 bolts.
 |
Detach the 2 claws and No. 2 fan shroud.
| 16. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.
 |
| 17. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER INLET HOSE |
| 18. DISCONNECT OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE |
| 19. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE |
| 20. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE |
| 21. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Remove the No. 2 water by-pass hose from the radiator reservoir and radiator.
| 22. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY |
Detach the cooler condenser from the radiator.
- HINT:
- After detaching the condenser, make sure that all 4 fan shroud cushions are present.
Remove the radiator with the 2 radiator support lower cushions.
- HINT:
- After detaching the radiator, make sure that all 2 lower radiator supports are present.
Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator.
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 oil cooler hoses.
| 23. REMOVE FAN SHROUD WITH COOLING FAN |
Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud with cooling fan from the radiator.
