INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MAIN BODY ECU)

INSPECT FUSE (HAZ)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY - BATTERY)

CHECK OPERATION OF TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY

INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (MAIN BODY ECU)

INSPECT FUSE (HAZ)

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY - BATTERY)

CHECK OPERATION OF TURN SIGNAL FLASHER RELAY

INSPECT HAZARD WARNING SIGNAL SWITCH

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. Check the vehicle condition.
   

   Result

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.
   

3. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check the relay operation.
   
   

   Main body ECU

   Hazard	Hazard ON/OFF	-

   OK:

   All hazard warning signal lights flash.
   

1. Remove the HAZ fuse from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Below 1 Ω
   

1. Remove the turn signal flasher relay from the instrument panel junction block.
   

2. Measure the voltage of the junction block.
   

   Standard voltage:

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   Junction block turn signal flasher relay terminal 4 (+B) - Body ground	10 to 14 V

1. Replace the turn signal flasher relay with a normally functioning one or a new one.
   

2. Check that the appropriate turn signal light flashes.
   

   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
      

   2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.
      

   3. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check the relay operation.

      OK:

      All hazard warning signal lights flash.
      

1. Remove the hazard warning signal switch.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the switch.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 - 4	OFF	10 kΩ or higher
   1 - 4	ON	Below 23.4 Ω

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.
   

3. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check the relay operation.
   
   

   Main body ECU

   OK:

   All hazard warning signal lights flash.
   

1. Remove the HAZ fuse from the engine room No. 1 relay block.
   

2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.
   

   Standard resistance:

   Below 1 Ω
   

1. Disconnect the E81 turn signal flasher relay connector.
   

2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.
   

   Standard voltage:

   Tester Connection	Specified Condition
   E81-4 (B) - Body ground	10 to 14 V

1. Replace the turn signal flasher relay with a normally functioning one or a new one.
   

2. Check that the appropriate turn signal light flashes.
   

   1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
      

   2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.
      

   3. Select the item below in the Active Test and then check the relay operation.
