Parking Brake Cable Removal

Brake. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  2. LOOSEN LOCK NUT AND NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT

  3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

  4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE

Parking Brake Cable -- Removal



1. REMOVE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the center airbag sensor (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001DO400DX.html).

    HINT:
    Refer to the procedures from the disconnection of the negative battery cable up until the removal of the center airbag sensor.


2. LOOSEN LOCK NUT AND NO. 1 WIRE ADJUSTING NUT

3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

  1. Disconnect the 3 cable ends and then remove the equalizer.



4. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE

  1. Remove the cable clamp (labeled A) from the body.

  1. Remove the casing cap bolt (labeled B) from the body.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled C) from the body.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled D) from the crossmember.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled E) from the rear suspension crossmember.

  1. Remove the clamp bolt (labeled F) from the trailing arm.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake shoe lever and backing plate.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the lever (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001N1D00DX.html).

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cable from the backing plate.
