1. INSPECT TRANSAXLE OIL

  1. Stop the vehicle on a level surface.

  1. Remove the No. 1 engine under cover (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PXM003X_01_0003.html).

  1. Remove the transmission filler plug and gasket.

  1. Check that the oil level is within 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom of the transmission filler plug opening.

    NOTICE:
    An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause problems.

  1. Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.

  1. Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug.

    Torque:
    39 N*m{400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install the No. 1 engine under cover (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PXK003X_01_0057.html).
