REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
DISCONNECT FUEL EMISSION HOSE
DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE SET PLATE
REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUB-TANK
REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUCTION SUPPORT
REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY
- NOTICE:
- Do not disconnect the hose indicated in the illustration.
1. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY |
Remove the fuel tank assembly (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000YLT033X.html).
2. DISCONNECT FUEL EMISSION HOSE |
Disconnect the purge line hose, air inlet line hose and fuel emission hose from the fuel suction plate.

Pinch the retainer as shown in the illustration, and then disconnect the fuel emission hose from the fuel suction plate.
- NOTICE:
- Clean off any dirt and foreign matter from the clip before disconnecting the hoses.
- Do not use any tools in this procedure.
- Do not forcefully bend or twist the nylon tube.
- Put the hose in a plastic bag to prevent damage and contamination.
- If the connector is stuck, pinch the retainer and push and pull the hose to disconnect it.
3. DISCONNECT FUEL TANK MAIN TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the joint clip and fuel tank main tube.
- NOTICE:
- Before removing the tube joint clip, check for foreign matter around the clip. Clean if necessary.
- Keep the O-ring free of foreign matter, as it becomes contaminated easily.
- Do not use any tools in this procedure.
- Do not forcefully bend or twist the tube.
- Put the tube in a plastic bag to prevent damage and contamination.
- If the fuel suction plate and tube are stuck together, pinch the tube and turn it carefully to disconnect it.
- Be careful not to damage the clip. If the clip is damaged, replace it.
4. REMOVE FUEL TANK VENT TUBE SET PLATE |
Remove the 8 bolts and set plate.
5. REMOVE FUEL SUCTION WITH PUMP ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the fuel hose and remove the fuel suction with pump from the fuel tank.
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the fuel suction with pump.
Remove the gasket from the fuel suction with pump.

6. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUB-TANK |
Disconnect the wire harness connector.
Using needle nose pliers, remove the E-ring.
- HINT:
- Slightly lower the fuel suction plate to remove the E-ring.
Remove the 2 springs from the 2 shafts.
Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel sub-tank.
Detach the claw of the jet pump nozzle.

Using a screwdriver, remove the jet pump.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Remove the O-ring from the jet pump.

7. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL SUCTION SUPPORT |
Using needle-nose pliers, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 fuel suction support.
8. REMOVE FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY |
Detach the 5 claws on the filter and remove the fuel pump from the fuel filter.
- HINT:
- When detaching the claws, do not disconnect the fuel main tube.
Disconnect the fuel pump connector.
Remove the O-ring from the fuel filter.
Remove the fuel pump spacer from the fuel pump assembly.
