Radio Antenna Cord Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

  6. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)

  7. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER (w/o Radio Receiver)

  8. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System)

  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY CENTER

  10. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

  11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

  13. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

  14. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  15. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  16. REMOVE NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY

Radio Antenna Cord -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.


2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips and 6 claws, and then remove the instrument cluster finish panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


3. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Pull the combination meter in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to detach the 2 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the combination meter.



4. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.

  1. Disconnect the connector.



5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.

  1. Disconnect the connector.



6. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the radio receiver with bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000014UM00DX.html).



7. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER (w/o Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Detach the 4 clips and remove the stereo opening cover.



8. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System)

  1. for HDD:
    Remove the radio receiver with bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000021Q2002X_01_0004.html).

  1. for DVD:
    Remove the radio receiver with bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003P8D001X_01_0003.html).



9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY CENTER

  1. Using a moulding remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the instrument panel register.



10. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Open the glove compartment door.

  1. Detach the claw from the glove compartment door stopper.

  1. While pushing in the sides of the glove compartment door in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration, open the door to release it from the 2 stoppers.

  1. Open the door as much as possible.

  1. Pull the glove compartment door toward the rear of the vehicle to detach the 2 hinges and remove the glove compartment door.



11. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  1. for Short Body:
    Remove the front pillar garnish (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUT002X_01_0008.html).

  1. for Long Body:
    Remove the front pillar garnish (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUZ002X_01_0008.html).



12. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

  1. for Short Body:
    Remove the front pillar garnish (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUT002X_01_0009.html).

  1. for Long Body:
    Remove the front pillar garnish (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUZ002X_01_0009.html).



13. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL

  1. Remove the 2 bolts from the passenger airbag.

  1. Disconnect the passenger airbag connector.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and detach the clamp.



  1. Detach the 6 clips and 5 claws and remove the instrument panel.

14. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY


  1. for 3ZR-FAE (w/ Radio Receiver):



    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the 4 clamps and remove the antenna cord.



  1. except 3ZR-FAE & for 3ZR-FAE (w/o Radio Receiver):



    1. Disconnect the connector.

    2. Detach the 4 clamps and remove the antenna cord.



15. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY

  1. for Shot Body:
    Remove the roof headlining (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUT002X.html).

  1. for Long Body:
    Remove the roof headlining (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XUZ002X.html).



16. REMOVE NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY


  1. for Short Body (w/o Sliding Roof):



    1. Apply masking tape to the antenna cord to mark it.

      HINT:
      Apply the masking tape so that the edges of the masking tape and roof headlining are aligned as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the antenna cord from the roof headlining.

    3. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof headlining.



  1. for Short Body (w/ Sliding Roof):



    1. Apply masking tape to the antenna cord to mark it.

      HINT:
      Apply the masking tape so that the edges of the masking tape and roof headlining are aligned as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the antenna cord from the roof headlining.

    3. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof headlining.

    1. Apply masking tape to the antenna cord to mark it.

      Apply the masking tape so that the edges of the masking tape and roof headlining are aligned as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the antenna cord from the roof headlining.

    3. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof headlining.

    1. Apply masking tape to the antenna cord to mark it.

    2. Remove the antenna cord from the roof headlining.

    3. Remove the double-sided tape from the roof headlining.
