- NOTICE:
- All the stored DTCs and freeze frame data are cleared if: 1) the ECM is changed from normal mode to check mode or vice versa; or 2) the ignition switch is turned from ON to ACC or off while in check mode. Before changing modes, always check and make a note of any DTCs and freeze frame data.
- HINT:
- DTCs which are stored in the ECM can be output to the intelligent tester. The intelligent tester can display both current and pending DTCs.
- Malfunctions that were not detected a second time by the ECM during the second driving cycle are stored as pending DTCs.
CHECK FOR DTC (Using intelligent tester) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Check the DTC(s) and freeze frame data, and then write them down.
Check the details of the DTC(s) (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000PDF0FMX.html).
CLEAR DTC (Using intelligent tester) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Clear.
Press the YES button.
CLEAR DTC (Without using intelligent tester) |
Perform either of the following operations:
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 1 minute.
Remove the EFI MAIN and ETCS fuses from the engine room No. 1 relay block (located inside the engine compartment) for more than 1 minute.
