Charging System -- Freeze Frame Data |
FREEZE FRAME DATA |
The ECM stores the vehicle condition when a DTC is output, and this information can be displayed using the GTS.
Freeze frame data when a DTC is output.
When a DTC is output, the freeze frame data at the time the DTC is output is stored.
When freeze frame data is stored when a DTC is output, the data is not updated or deleted until DTCs are cleared.
CHECK FREEZE FRAME DATA |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Select a DTC to display the freeze frame data.
Check the freeze frame data for the output DTC.
LIST OF FREEZE FRAME DATA |
- HINT:
- The chart below indicates the items related to the charging system from the freeze frame data recorded by the SFI system.
Tester Display | Measurement Item/Range | Normal Condition | Diagnostic Note |
Battery Voltage | Battery voltage/0.000 to 66.000 V | 11 to 14 V | When the value is outside of the specified range, there may be a problem with the battery |
Alternate Duty Ratio | Alternate duty ratio/Min.: 0%, Max.: 128% | - | When the alternator duty ratio continues to display the maximum value regardless of whether supplemental equipment such as the air conditioning and heater are operating, there may be an electrical system malfunction such as battery deterioration |
Alternator Output Duty | LIN terminal output (charge control signal)/0.0 to 399.9% | Changes in response to generator power generation amount during charging control | If the value does not change as specified, there may be a malfunction in the charging control system |
Alt Vol - Non Active Test | Request voltage when regulator not under forced activation/0.000 to 79.998 V | After engine is started: Changes in accordance with the driving conditions (12.3 to 14.8 V) | Malfunction of the charging control system can be the cause of malfunction |
Alt Vol - Active Test | Request voltage when regulator under forced activation/0.000 to 79.998 V | Request voltage value is 12.5 to 14.6 V when Active Test "Control the Voltage of Alternator" is executed | Malfunction of the charging control system can be the cause of malfunction |
