DTC B1532 LVDS Signal Malfunction (from Extension Module)


DESCRIPTION

The navigation ECU and the radio and display receiver assembly are connected by the LVDS communication line.
This DTC is stored when an LVDS communication error occurs between the navigation ECU and the radio and display receiver assembly.

When one of the conditions below is met:
  1. Video signal (digital) is lost.
  2. Navigation ECU is/was not connected while the engine switch is/was on (IG) or (ACC).
  3. Communication between the master unit and the navigation ECU is/was not possible when the engine is/was started.
  1. Navigation ECU power source circuit
  2. LVDS circuit between radio and display receiver assembly and navigation ECU
  3. Navigation ECU
  4. Radio and display receiver assembly
  5. Harness or connector
HINT:
  1. Even if no fault is present, this DTC may be stored depending on the battery condition or engine start voltage.
  2. The radio and display receiver assembly is the master unit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION ECU POWER SOURCE)
  1. Disconnect the V5 navigation ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    z13-2 (GND) - Body ground
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    z13-1 (B+) - z13-2 (GND)
    Always
    11 to 14 V
    z13-3 (ACC) - z13-2 (GND)
    Engine switch on (ACC)
    11 to 14 V


NG
Go to step 4
OK


2.REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LVDS COMMUNICATION LINE)
  1. Replace the harness and connector (LVDS communication line).

  1. Clear the DTCs (LandCruiser RM0000011BU0W8X.html).

  1. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.


NG
Go to step 3
OK

END (LVDS COMMUNICATION LINE IS DEFECTIVE)

3.REPLACE NAVIGATION ECU
  1. Replace the navigation ECU with a known good one (LandCruiser RM000004OAH00PX.html).

  1. Clear the DTCs (LandCruiser RM0000011BU0W8X.html).

  1. Recheck for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

    OK:
    No DTCs are output.

END (NAVIGATION ECU IS DEFECTIVE)

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - NAVIGATION ECU)
  1. Disconnect the z12 radio and display receiver assembly connector.

  1. Disconnect the z13 navigation ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
