1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Rain Sensor) |
for LHD Windshield Wiper Switch and RHD Windshield Wiper Switch RH Side Type:
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Rear Wiper Switch Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 12 (C1R) - 1 (EW) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 10 (+1R) - 1 (EW) 12 (C1R) - 1 (EW) LO Below 1 Ω 10 (+1R) - 1 (EW) HI Below 1 Ω Rear Washer Switch Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 11 (WR) - 1 (EW) OFF 10 kΩ or higher 10 (+1R) - 1 (EW) 11 (WR) - 1 (EW) WASH Below 1 Ω 11 (WR) - 1 (EW) ON + WASH Below 1 Ω 10 (+1R) - 1 (EW)

(Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)Check the intermittent operation.
- Connect the positive (+) lead of a voltmeter to terminal A-3 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW).
- Connect the battery positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-2 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW) and A-1 (+S).
- Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
- Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-1 (+S) for 5 seconds.
- Connect the negative (-) lead of the battery to terminal A-1 (+S). Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals A-3 (+1) and B-2 (EW).
- OK:
- The voltage changes as shown in the illustration.

- Connect the positive (+) lead of a voltmeter to terminal A-2 (+1) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW).
- Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-3 (+B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-2 (EW) and A-4 (+S).
- Turn the wiper switch to the INT position.
- Connect the positive (+) lead of the battery to terminal A-4 (+S) for 5 seconds.
- Connect the negative (-) lead of the battery to terminal A-4 (+S). Operate the intermittent wiper relay and check the voltage between terminals A-2 (+1) and B-2 (EW).
- OK:
- The voltage changes as shown in the illustration.
