Starter Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  3. DISCONNECT CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  4. DISCONNECT CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

  5. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

Starter -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
  1. After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
  2. When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).


2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 4 bolts and rear engine under cover.



3. DISCONNECT CLUTCH RELEASE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the release cylinder.



4. DISCONNECT CLUTCH FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the clutch flexible hose bracket.



5. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the starter connector.

  1. Remove the terminal cap.

  1. Remove the nut and disconnect the starter wire.

  1. Remove the nut, 2 bolts and starter assembly.
