Camshaft Oil Control Valve On-Vehicle Inspection

for Intake Side:

1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
   

2. Start the engine.
   

3. Turn the GTS on.
   

4. Warm up the engine.
   

5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Linear (Bank 1).
   

6. Check the engine speed while operating the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly using the GTS.
   

   Specified Condition:

   GTS Operation	Specified Condition
   0%	Normal engine speed
   100%	Engine idles roughly or stalls

   If the result is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly, wiring and ECM.
   

for Exhaust Side:

1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
   

2. Start the engine.
   

3. Turn the GTS on.
   

4. Warm up the engine.
   

5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the VVT Exhaust Linear (Bank 1).
   

6. Check the engine speed while operating the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly using the GTS.
   

   Specified Condition:

   GTS Operation	Specified Condition
   0%	Normal engine speed
   100%	Engine idles roughly or stalls

   If the result is not as specified, check the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly, wiring and ECM.
