Wiper And Washer System -- System Description



FRONT WIPER AND WASHER SYSTEM
The wiper and washer system has the following functions:

Wiper
Rain Sensing (w/ Rain Sensor)
Controls the wiping interval and speed in accordance with the amount of rain and vehicle speeds when the wiper switch is in AUTO.
Washer-linked Wiper
Wipers are operated in unison with the washer.

  1. Rain Sensing Function (w/ Rain Sensor)
    General

    1. The rain sensing function controls the wiper timing in accordance with the amount of raindrops that strike the windshield when the wiper switch is in AUTO.
    2. The windshield wiper switch assembly controls the timing based on the signal from the rain sensor.

  2. Washer-linked Wiper

    1. When the wiper switch is set to off or auto and the washer switch is turned on for approximately 0.3 seconds or more, the wipers start operating at low speed at the same time as the washer fluid is sprayed.
    2. The wipers operate three times at low speed after the washer switch is turned off.

HEADLIGHT CLEANER SYSTEM (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)

  1. The headlight cleaner system operates when the headlight cleaner switch is pushed on.

  2. The headlight cleaner system also operates when the front washer switch is first operated with the headlights on after the ignition switch is turned to ON.


WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SYSTEM (w/ Washer Fluid Level Warning System)

  1. When the volume of washer fluid decreases to below a certain level (when the level warning switch assembly is turned on), the multi-information display warns the driver by displaying a message*1 or the combination meter assembly warns the driver by displaying a washer fluid warning light*2.
