DTC P0606 ECM / PCM Processor


DESCRIPTION

  1. The ECM monitors the input signals of the accelerator pedal position sensor No. 1. When the input signals and control signals deviate, a DTC is stored.
  2. The ECM monitors the input signals of the throttle position sensor No. 1 and stop light switch. If the input signals and control signals deviate, a DTC is stored.
  3. The ECM continuously monitors its main and sub CPUs. This self-check ensures that the ECM is functioning properly. If outputs from the CPUs are different and deviate from the standard, the ECM will illuminate the MIL and store a DTC immediately.

TYPICAL MALFUNCTION THRESHOLDS


When one of following conditions is met:
Condition 1, 2 or 3
1. Difference of main accelerator pedal position and sub accelerator pedal position
0.3 V or more
2. Difference of main throttle position and sub throttle position
0.3 V or more
3. Stop light switch signal (CPU) and stop light switch signal (Monitor IC)

CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.
  3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
  4. Turn the ignition switch to ON and wait for 16 seconds or more.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Clear the DTCs (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000PDK0U8X.html).

  1. Turn the intelligent tester off.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Disconnect the intelligent tester.

  1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal and wait for 1 minute.

  1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Wait 16 second or more.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  1. Check for DTCs.

    OK:
    P0606 is not output.
