DESCRIPTION
When the ignition switch is turned to ON, battery voltage is applied to terminal IGSW of the ECM. The output signal from the MREL terminal of the ECM causes current to flow to the coil, closing the contacts of the integration relay (MAIN relay) and supplying power to terminal +B of the ECM.WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- NOTICE:
- Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
1.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - BODY GROUND) |
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C98-5 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
Reconnect the ECM connector.

2.INSPECT ECM (IGSW VOLTAGE) |
Disconnect the ECM connector.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition G146-22 (IGSW) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

Inspect the No. 1 integration relay (MAIN) (HILUX_TGN26 RM000003BLB022X_01_0019.html).

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION RELAY [MAIN] - ECM) |
Remove the integration relay (MAIN relay) from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the integration relay connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1J-4 - G145-23 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
- Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1J-4 or G145-23 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
Reconnect the ECM connector.
Reconnect the integration relay connector.
Reinstall the integration relay.

Remove the integration relay (MAIN relay) from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the integration relay connector.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Disconnect the cable from the positive (+) battery terminal.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1H-1 - Positive battery terminal Always Below 1 Ω
- Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1H-1 or Positive battery terminal - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
Reconnect the integration relay connector.
Reinstall the integration relay.
Reconnect the cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.
Reconnect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.

Remove the integration relay (MAIN relay) from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the integration relay connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1J-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
Reconnect the integration relay connector.
Reinstall the integration relay.

Remove the integration relay (MAIN relay) from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the integration relay connector.

- Standard Resistance (Check for Open):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1J-2 - G146-12 (MREL) Always Below 1 Ω
- Standard Resistance (Check for Short):
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1J-2 or G146-12 (MREL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
Reconnect the ECM connector.
Reconnect the integration relay connector.
Reinstall the integration relay.

Disconnect the ignition switch assembly connector.

- Standard Resistance:
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 5 (AM2) - 6 (IG2) LOCK 10 kΩ or higher 5 (AM2) - 6 (IG2) ON Below 1 Ω

Reconnect the ECM connector.
Reconnect the ignition switch assembly connector.
