Transmission Wire -- Removal |
1. DRAIN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID |
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain ATF.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 20 N*m{205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf}
2. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the oil level dipstick.
Remove the 2 bolts and transmission oil filler tube.
Remove the O-ring from the transmission oil filler tube.
3. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 19 bolts.
Insert the blade of an oil pan seal cutter between the transmission case and transmission oil pan. Cut through the seal and remove the transmission oil pan.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the flanges of the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly and automatic transmission case.
- Some fluid will remain in the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly. Carefully remove the automatic transmission oil pan sub-assembly.

Examine the particles in the transmission oil pan.
Remove all the magnets and use them to collect steel particles. Carefully look at the foreign matter and particles in the transmission oil pan and on the magnets to determine the type of wear you will find in the transmission.
Steel (magnetic): bearing, gear and clutch plate wear
Brass (non-magnetic): bush wear
4. REMOVE VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY |

Remove the 4 bolts and valve body oil strainer.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful as some fluid may leak out of the valve body oil strainer assembly.
Remove the 3 gaskets from the valve body oil strainer.
5. REMOVE TRANSMISSION WIRE |
Disconnect the 4 connectors from the 4 shift solenoid valves.

Remove the bolt and stopper plate from the case.

Pull out the transmission wire from the transmission case.
Remove the O-ring from the transmission wire.
