  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION WIRE

  2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION WIRE

  3. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY

  4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

  7. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID

Transmission Wire -- Installation


NOTICE:
When working with seal packing material, perform the following:
  1. Using a razor blade and gasket scraper, remove all old seal packing material from the gasket surfaces.
  2. Clean all components thoroughly to remove all foreign matter.
  3. Clean both sealing surfaces with a non-residue solvent.
  4. Apply seal packing material in a continuous line approximately 2 to 3 mm (0.0788 to 0.118 in.) in diameter on the sealing surface.
  5. Reassemble parts within 10 minutes of applying seal packing material. Failing to do so will require the seal packing material to be removed and reapplied.


1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION WIRE

  1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission wire.

  1. Install the transmission wire to the transmission case.

  1. Install the stopper plate with the bolt.

    Torque:
    5.4 N*m{55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf}


2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION WIRE

  1. Connect the 4 connectors to the 4 shift solenoid valves.



3. INSTALL VALVE BODY OIL STRAINER ASSEMBLY

  1. Install 3 new gaskets.

  1. Install the valve body oil strainer with the 4 bolts.

    Torque:
    11 N*m{110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf}
    HINT:
    Each bolt length is indicated below.
    14 mm (0.55 in.) for bolt A
    20 mm (0.79 in.) for bolt B
    23 mm (0.91 in.) for bolt C


4. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

HINT:
Remove any packing material and be careful not to spill oil on the contact surfaces of the transmission case and automatic transmission oil pan.

  1. Install the 3 magnets to the locations indicated in the illustration.

  1. Apply seal packing to the oil pan as shown in the illustration.

    Seal packing:
    Toyota Genuine Seal Packing 1281,
    Three Bond 1281 or equivalent

  1. Install the oil pan with the 19 bolts.

    Torque:
    7.4 N*m{75 kgf*cm, 65 in.*lbf}


5. INSTALL TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Coat a new O-ring with ATF and install it to the transmission oil filler tube.

  1. Install the transmission oil filler tube with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    12 N*m{122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}

  1. Install the transmission oil level dipstick.



6. ADD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
Fluid type:
Toyota Genuine ATF Type T-IV


7. INSPECT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID
