Front Brake (For 2Wd) -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
- The procedure listed below is for the LH side.
| 1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL |
| 2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID |
- NOTICE:
- Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
| 3. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE |
Remove the union bolt and gasket.
 |
Disconnect the flexible hose from the disc brake cylinder.
| 4. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY LH |
Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake cylinder assembly.
 |
| 5. REMOVE NO. 1 CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH |
Remove the No. 1 cylinder slide bush from the disc brake cylinder assembly.
 |
| 6. REMOVE NO. 2 CYLINDER SLIDE BUSH |
Remove the No. 2 cylinder slide bush from the disc brake cylinder assembly.
| 7. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE BUSH DUST BOOT |
Remove the 4 boots from the disc brake cylinder assembly.

| 8. REMOVE NO. 1 COLLAR |
Remove the No. 1 collar from the disc brake cylinder assembly.
| 9. REMOVE NO. 2 COLLAR |
Remove the No. 2 collar from the disc brake cylinder assembly.
| 10. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD |
Remove the 2 front disc brake pads from the disc brake cylinder.
| 11. REMOVE FRONT ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT |
Remove the No. 1 anti-squeal shim and No. 2 anti-squeal shim from each pad.
| 12. REMOVE PAD WEAR INDICATOR PLATE |
Remove the pad wear indicator plates from the disc brake pad.
| 13. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE |
Remove the 4 pad support plates from the brake cylinder mounting.
| 14. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING LH |
Remove the 2 bolts and cylinder mounting.
| 15. REMOVE FRONT DISC |
Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.
