Brake Actuator (W/ Vsc) Removal

PRECAUTION
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET

- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR1003X.html).
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR3003X.html).
- NOTICE:
- Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.
4. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY |
Place tags or marks to identify the installation locations of each brake line.
- HINT:
- *1: to front wheel cylinder RH
- *2: to front wheel cylinder LH
- *3: to rear wheel cylinder RH
- *4: to rear wheel cylinder LH
- *5: from master cylinder
Pull the lock lever upward and disconnect the connector.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.
Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the brake actuator.
Remove the 3 bolts, nut and actuator with bracket.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
5. REMOVE NO. 3 BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET |
Remove the bolt and No. 3 brake actuator bracket.
