Fuel Pump (For Fuel Main Tank) Inspection

Check the fuel pump resistance.

1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   4 - 5	20°C (68°F)	0.2 to 3.0 Ω

   *a	Component without harness connected (Fuel Pump)

   If the result is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
   

Check fuel pump operation.

1. Apply battery voltage to terminals 4 and 5. Check that the pump operates.
   

   NOTICE:

   1. This test must be completed within 10 seconds to prevent the coil from burning out.
      
   2. Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as possible.
      
   3. Always turn the voltage on and off at the battery, not the fuel pump.
      
   If the pump does not operate, replace the fuel pump.
