Fuel Injector Installation

  1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE

  4. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

  5. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY

  6. CONNECT CABLE TO BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL

  7. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK (for Fuel Main Tank)

Fuel Injector -- Installation



1. INSTALL FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Install a new insulator to the fuel injector.

    		New O-Ring

    		New Insulator

  1. Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline to a new O-ring and install it to the fuel injector.

  1. Apply a light coat of grease or gasoline on the place where the delivery pipe touches the O-ring.

  1. To install the fuel injector into the fuel delivery pipe, push the fuel injector while twisting it back and forth.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be careful not to twist the O-ring.
    2. After installing the fuel injector, check that it turns smoothly. If not, reinstall it with a new O-ring.

  1. Position the fuel injector connector so that it faces downward.



2. INSTALL FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Apply a light coat of gasoline or spindle oil to new O-rings, and then install one to each spacer.

  1. Install the 4 spacers to the cylinder head.

  1. Install 4 new injector vibration insulators to the cylinder head.

  1. Install the 2 No. 1 delivery pipe spacers to the cylinder head.

  1. Install the fuel delivery pipe together with the 4 fuel injectors with the 2 bolts.

    Torque:
    12 N*m{122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    Do not drop the fuel injectors when installing the fuel delivery pipe.

  1. Connect the 4 injector connectors.

  1. Connect the 4 clamps and wire harness to the delivery pipe.

  1. Connect the vacuum hose.



3. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE

  1. Connect the No. 2 fuel hose.



4. CONNECT NO. 1 FUEL HOSE

  1. Connect the No. 1 fuel hose (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YL401YX.html).



5. INSTALL THROTTLE WITH MOTOR BODY ASSEMBLY

6. CONNECT CABLE TO BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (HILUX_TGN26 RM000004QR300CX.html).


7. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK (for Fuel Main Tank)

  1. Make sure that there are no fuel leaks after performing maintenance on the fuel system.

    1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the intelligent tester on.

      NOTICE:
      Do not start the engine.

    3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Active Test / Control the Fuel Pump / Speed.

    4. Check that there are no leaks from the fuel system.
      If there are fuel leaks, repair or replace parts as necessary.

    5. Turn the ignition switch off.

    6. Disconnect the intelligent tester from the DLC3.
