Cruise Control Main Switch -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER |
for Type A:
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw to remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

for Type B:
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, insert the tip into service hole and disengage the 2 claws to remove the lower No. 3 steering wheel cover.

3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER |
for Type A:
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw to remove the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

for Type B:
Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, insert the tip into service hole and disengage the 2 claws to remove the lower No. 2 steering wheel cover.

4. REMOVE STEERING PAD |
for Type A:
Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the 2 "TORX" screws until the groove along the screw circumference catches on the screw case.
Text in Illustration *A w/o Steering Pad Switch *B w/ Steering Pad Switch *1 Screw Case *2 "Torx" Screw Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly and support the steering pad with one hand as shown in the illustration.
- NOTICE:
- When removing the steering pad, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
Disconnect the horn connector from the steering pad.
Text in Illustration *1 Protective Tape Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.
Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the steering pad.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
for Type B:
Using a screwdriver, push the 2 torsional springs to disengage the 2 pins.
- NOTICE:
- Do not drop the steering pad.
Pull out the steering pad from the steering wheel assembly and support the steering pad with one hand.
- NOTICE:
- When removing the steering pad, do not pull the airbag wire harness.
Disconnect the horn connector from the steering pad.

Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the steering pad.
- NOTICE:

5. REMOVE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH |
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the 2 screws.
