Radiator -- Removal |
1. REMOVE BATTERY |
Disconnect the battery cables.
Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.
Remove the battery.
2. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR |
Remove the 2 radiator grille protectors.

3. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY |
Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

Remove the 4 screws, 2 bolts and 7 clips.
Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

w/ Fog Light:
Disconnect the 2 fog light connectors.
4. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT |
Loosen the lower radiator drain cock plug.
- CAUTION:
- Do not loosen the lower radiator drain cock plug while the engine and radiator are still hot.
- Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
- HINT:
- Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.
Remove the radiator cap.
5. REMOVE THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the connector.

Disengage the clamp and the ambient temperature sensor.
6. DISCONNECT RADIATOR RESERVOIR TANK HOSE |
Disconnect the radiator reservoir tank hose from the radiator assembly.

7. DISCONNECT NO. 1 RADIATOR HOSE |
Disconnect the No. 1 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

8. DISCONNECT NO. 2 RADIATOR HOSE |
Disconnect the No. 2 radiator hose from the radiator assembly.

9. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT |
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 upper radiator supports.

Remove the 2 support cushions from the 2 upper radiator supports.
10. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 3 bolts from the hood lock assembly.

Disconnect the hood lock control cable and remove the hood lock assembly.

11. SEPARATE WATER BY-PASS HOSE |
Separate the water by-pass hose from the 3 clamps.

Disconnect the water by-pass hose from the radiator assembly.
12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and hood lock support sub-assembly.

13. REMOVE UPPER RADIATOR SUPPORT SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the horn connector.

Remove the 4 bolts and upper radiator support sub-assembly.

14. REMOVE NO. 2 FAN SHROUD |
Remove the 2 bolts, disengage the 2 claws, and remove the No. 2 fan shroud from the radiator assembly.

15. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the cooling fan ECU connector and wire harness clamp.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the connector.

Remove the radiator assembly with the fan shroud.
- NOTICE:
- Do not apply any excessive force to the cooler condenser assembly or pipe when removing the radiator assembly.

Remove the 2 lower radiator supports.
16. REMOVE OIL COOLER HOSE (for Automatic Transaxle) |
Disconnect the 2 oil cooler hoses from the radiator.

Remove the 2 bolts and oil cooler hose.
17. REMOVE FAN SHROUD |
Remove the 2 bolts and fan shroud from the radiator assembly.
