Rear Axle Hub And Bearing Removal

  1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

  2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE REAR DISC

  4. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

Rear Axle Hub And Bearing -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Axle.Axle System.Rear Axle Hub And Bearing Removal

  1. Remove the bolt and separate the flexible hose from the shock absorber.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Axle.Axle System.Rear Axle Hub And Bearing Removal

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.


3. REMOVE REAR DISC


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Axle.Axle System.Rear Axle Hub And Bearing Removal

  1. Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.Axle.Axle System.Rear Axle Hub And Bearing Removal

  1. Release the parking brake and remove the rear disc.

    HINT:
    If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn and press firmly the shoe adjuster until the wheel comes free.


4. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the skid control sensor connector.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and hub and bearing assembly.
