  1. Inspect engine coolant temperature sensor

1. INSPECT ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR


Check the resistance.Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.Standard resistance:ConditionSpecified ConditionApproximately 20°C (68°F)2.32 to 2.59 kΩApproximately 80°C (176°F)0.310 to 0.326 kΩNOTICE: When checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in the water, keep the terminals dry. After the check, wipe the sensor dry.If the resistance is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor. Yaris

  1. Check the resistance.

    1. Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Standard resistance:
      Condition
      		Specified Condition
      Approximately 20°C (68°F)
      		2.32 to 2.59 kΩ
      Approximately 80°C (176°F)
      		0.310 to 0.326 kΩ
      NOTICE:
      When checking the engine coolant temperature sensor in the water, keep the terminals dry. After the check, wipe the sensor dry.
      If the resistance is not as specified, replace the engine coolant temperature sensor.
