  1. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal

  2. Remove front wiper arm head cap (for hatchback)

  3. Remove front wiper arm head cap (for sedan)

  4. Remove front wiper arm and blade assembly lh (for hatchback)

  5. Remove front wiper arm and blade assembly lh (for sedan)

  6. Remove front wiper arm and blade assembly rh (for hatchback)

  7. Remove front wiper arm and blade assembly rh (for sedan)

  8. Remove hood to cowl top seal (for hatchback)

  9. Remove cowl side ventilator sub-assembly lh (for sedan)

  10. Remove cowl side ventilator sub-assembly rh (for sedan)

  11. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly (for hatchback lhd)

  12. Remove cowl top ventilator louver lh (for hatchback lhd)

  13. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly (for hatchback rhd)

  14. Remove cowl top ventilator louver lh (for hatchback rhd)

  15. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly (for sedan rhd)

  16. Remove cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly (for sedan lhd)

  17. Remove windshield wiper motor and link (for hatchback)

  18. Remove windshield wiper motor and link (for sedan)

  19. Remove cowl to register duct sub-assembly no. 2 (for hatchback)

  20. Remove front air shutter seal (for sedan)

  21. Remove cowl top panel outer (for hatchback)

  22. Remove cowl top panel outer (for sedan)

  23. Remove ecm

  24. Remove ecm bracket

  25. Remove ecm bracket no. 2

NOTICE:
Replace the ECM with a new one if necessary.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


2. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP (for Hatchback)
  1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the 2 front wiper arm head caps. Yaris

  2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the 2 front wiper arm head caps.



3. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP (for Sedan)
  1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the 2 front wiper arm head caps. Yaris

  2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the 2 front wiper arm head caps.



4. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (for Hatchback)

  1. Operate the wiper, then stop the windshield wiper motor in the automatic stop position.

  1. Remove the nut and front wiper arm. Yaris

  2. Remove the nut and front wiper arm.



5. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH (for Sedan)
  1. Operate the wiper, then stop the windshield wiper motor in the automatic stop position. Yaris

  2. Operate the wiper, then stop the windshield wiper motor in the automatic stop position.

  1. Remove the nut and front wiper arm.



6. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (for Hatchback)
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.


7. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH (for Sedan)
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.


8. REMOVE HOOD TO COWL TOP SEAL (for Hatchback)


Disengage the 7 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal. Yaris

  1. Disengage the 7 clips and remove the hood to cowl top seal.



9. REMOVE COWL SIDE VENTILATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH (for Sedan)
  1. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the cowl side ventilator sub-assembly LH. Yaris

  2. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the cowl side ventilator sub-assembly LH.



10. REMOVE COWL SIDE VENTILATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH (for Sedan)
HINT:
Use the same procedure as for the LH side.


11. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback LHD)


Disengage the 2 hooks and remove cowl top ventilator louver center No. 1. Yaris

  1. Disengage the 2 hooks and remove cowl top ventilator louver center No. 1.

  1. Disconnect the washer hose. Yaris

  2. Disconnect the washer hose.

  1. Disengage the 11 claws and clip.

  1. Disconnect the washer hose and remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly. Yaris

  2. Disconnect the washer hose and remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.



12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (for Hatchback LHD)


Remove the 2 clips. Yaris

  1. Remove the 2 clips.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.



13. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback RHD)


Disconnect the washer hose. Yaris

  1. Disconnect the washer hose.

  1. Disengage the 10 claws and clip and remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.



14. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER LH (for Hatchback RHD)


Remove the clip. Yaris

  1. Remove the clip.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the cowl top ventilator louver LH.



15. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan RHD)
  1. Disengage the 2 clips, the 6 claws and the 10 hooks. Yaris

  2. Disengage the 2 clips, the 6 claws and the 10 hooks.

  1. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.

  1. Disconnect the washer hoses. Yaris

  2. Disconnect the washer hoses.

  1. Disengage the 5 hooks.



16. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Sedan LHD)
  1. Disengage the 3 clips, the 4 claws and the 8 hooks. Yaris

  2. Disengage the 3 clips, the 4 claws and the 8 hooks.

  1. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.

  1. Disconnect the washer hoses. Yaris

  2. Disconnect the washer hoses.

  1. Disengage the 5 hooks.



17. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK (for Hatchback)


Remove the 2 bolts. Yaris

  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

  1. Slide the wiper link. Disengage the meshing of the rubber pin, then disconnect the connector and remove the front wiper motor and link.



18. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK (for Sedan)
  1. Remove the 2 bolts. Yaris

  2. Remove the 2 bolts.

  1. Slide the wiper link. Disengage the meshing of the rubber pin, then disconnect the connector and remove the front wiper motor and link.



19. REMOVE COWL TO REGISTER DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2 (for Hatchback)


Disengage the claw and remove cowl to register duct sub-assembly No. 2. Yaris

  1. Disengage the claw and remove cowl to register duct sub-assembly No. 2.



20. REMOVE FRONT AIR SHUTTER SEAL (for Sedan)


Disengage 3 claws and remove the front air shutter seal. Yaris

  1. Disengage 3 claws and remove the front air shutter seal.



21. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER (for Hatchback)


Disengage the wire harness clamp. Yaris

  1. Disengage the wire harness clamp.

  1. Remove the 9 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer. Yaris

  2. Remove the 9 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer.



22. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER (for Sedan)


Disengage the claw and disconnect the wire harness. Yaris

  1. Disengage the claw and disconnect the wire harness.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer center bracket. Yaris

  2. Remove the 2 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer center bracket.

  1. Remove the 8 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer. Yaris

  2. Remove the 8 bolts and remove the cowl top panel outer.



23. REMOVE ECM


Remove the 2 lock knobs and harness clamp. Yaris

  1. Remove the 2 lock knobs and harness clamp.

  1. Disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.

  1. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts and remove the ECM. Yaris

  2. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts and remove the ECM.



24. REMOVE ECM BRACKET


Remove the 2 screws and the ECM bracket. Yaris

  1. Remove the 2 screws and the ECM bracket.



25. REMOVE ECM BRACKET NO. 2


Remove the 2 screws and ECM bracket No. 2. Yaris

  1. Remove the 2 screws and ECM bracket No. 2.
