  1. Check dtc (using an intelligent tester)

NOTICE:
When the diagnosis system is changed from normal mode to check mode or vice versa, all DTCs and freeze frame data that were recorded in normal mode are erased. Before changing modes, always check and make a note of any DTCs and freeze frame data,
HINT:
  1. DTCs which are stored in the ECM can be displayed on an intelligent tester. An intelligent tester can display both current and pending DTCs.
  2. Malfunctions that were not detected a second time by the ECM during the second driving cycle are stored as pending DTCs.
  3. The pending DTCs are set when the malfunction is detected once.

CHECK DTC (Using an intelligent tester)
Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3. Yaris
  1. Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

  3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  4. Check the DTC(s) and freeze frame data, and then write them down.

  5. Check the details of the DTC(s).


CLEAR DTC (Using an intelligent tester)
  1. Connect an intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the tester on.

  3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Clear.

  4. Press the YES button.


CLEAR DTC (Without using an intelligent tester)
  1. Perform either of the following operations.

    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable for more than 1 minute.

    2. Remove the EFI and ETCS fuses from the engine room relay block located inside the engine compartment for more than 1 minute.
