Sliding Roof Housing

  1. Remove sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly

  2. Remove sunshade trim sub-assembly

  3. Remove sliding roof drive cable sub-assembly

1. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Disengage the claw and remove the sliding roof drive gear bracket. Camry

  2. Disengage the claw and remove the sliding roof drive gear bracket.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly. NOTICE: To prevent the sliding roof glass and sliding roof drive gear from being displaced, fully close the sliding roof glass (sliding roof drive cable), and then remove the sliding roof drive gear. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 bolts and sliding roof drive gear sub-assembly.

    NOTICE:
    To prevent the sliding roof glass and sliding roof drive gear from being displaced, fully close the sliding roof glass (sliding roof drive cable), and then remove the sliding roof drive gear.


2. REMOVE SUNSHADE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the screw and sliding roof piece sub-assembly LH.HINT: Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side. Camry

  2. Remove the screw and sliding roof piece sub-assembly LH.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
  1. Slide and remove the sunshade trim sub-assembly. Camry

  2. Slide and remove the sunshade trim sub-assembly.



3. REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
NOTICE:
Do not disassemble the sliding roof drive cable sub-assembly except when replacing it.
  1. Remove the 2 screws and sliding roof side stoppers. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 screws and sliding roof side stoppers.

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws. Then slide the sliding roof drip channel rearward to remove it.HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use. Camry

  2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws. Then slide the sliding roof drip channel rearward to remove it.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a screwdriver, slide the sliding roof drive cable sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow in the illustration to remove it.


    Sliding Roof Housing - Removal(2010/08 - ) Camry

    HINT:
    Hold the window deflector down, as shown in the illustration, until the sliding roof drive cable sub-assembly becomes disengaged from the window deflector.
