Rear Door - Disassembly

1. Remove rear door inside handle bezel plug

2. Remove door assist grip cover

3. Remove rear ash receptacle assembly

4. Remove rear door trim board sub-assembly

5. Remove rear power window regulator switch assembly

6. Remove rear door inner glass weatherstrip

7. Remove rear door armrest base panel upper

8. Remove rear door inside handle sub-assembly

9. Remove rear door inside panel reinforce

10. Remove rear door service hole cover

11. Remove rear door check assembly

12. Remove rear door weatherstrip

13. Remove rear door glass run

14. Remove rear door frame garnish

15. Remove rear door lower window frame sub-assembly

16. Remove rear door quarter window glass

17. Remove rear door glass sub-assembly

18. Remove rear door window regulator sub-assembly

19. Remove rear power window regulator motor assembly

20. Remove rear door lock assembly

21. Remove rear door lock remote control cable assembly

22. Remove rear door inside locking cable assembly

23. Remove rear door outside handle cover

24. Remove rear door outside handle assembly

25. Remove rear door front outside handle pad

26. Remove rear door rear outside handle pad

27. Remove rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly

28. Remove rear door belt moulding assembly

29. Remove rear door front window frame moulding

30. Remove rear door upper window frame moulding

31. Remove rear door outside stripe

32. Remove rear door lower outside stripe

1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws and remove the rear door inside handle bezel plug.

1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 6 claws and remove the door assist grip cover.

1. Remove the rear ash receptacle assembly.

1. Remove the 3 screws.

2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 7 clips.

3. Raise the rear door trim board to disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear door trim board together with the rear door inner glass weatherstrip.

4. Disconnect the connector.

5. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

6. Disengage the clip as shown in the illustration and remove the No. 1 door scuff plate clamp from the rear door trim board.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear power window regulator switch assembly.

1. Disengage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration and remove the rear door inner glass weatherstrip from the rear door trim board.

1. Remove the 7 screws.

2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the rear door armrest base panel upper.

1. Disconnect the cables and remove the rear door inside handle sub-assembly.

1. Remove the 4 screws and the rear door inside panel reinforce.

2. Remove the 4 grommets.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the rear door service hole cover.

   HINT:

   Remove the remaining tape on the door side.

1. Remove the 3 bolts and the rear door check assembly.

1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 20 clips and remove the rear door weatherstrip.

1. Remove the rear door glass run.

1. Disengage the clip and remove the rear door frame garnish.

1. Remove the 2 bolts, the screw, and the rear door lower window frame sub-assembly.

1. Remove the rear door quarter window glass and the rear door quarter window weatherstrip as a unit as shown in the illustration.

2. Remove the rear door quarter window glass from the rear door quarter window weatherstrip.

1. Remove the rear door glass sub-assembly from the rear door window regulator sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

   NOTICE:

   Do not damage the door glass.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Loosen the temporary bolt.

   NOTICE:

   Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the rear door window regulator may fall, causing damage.

3. Remove the 3 bolts.

4. Remove the rear door window regulator sub-assembly and the power window regulator motor assembly rear as a unit.

5. Remove the temporary bolt from the rear door window regulator.

1. Using a "TORX" driver (T25), remove the 3 screws and the rear power window regulator motor assembly.

1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.

2. Move the rear door lock assembly downward and pull the release plate out of the rear door outside handle frame.

3. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the rear door lock assembly.

1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. Remove the rear door lock remote control cable assembly.

1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. Remove the rear door inside locking cable assembly.

1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw.

   HINT:

   The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

2. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear door outside handle cover.

1. Pull and hold the release plate of the outside handle frame as shown in the illustration.

   NOTICE:

   The release plate may interfere with the outside handle and may be damaged when removing the handle, unless the release plate of the outside handle frame is pulled and held.

2. Remove the rear door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the rear door front outside handle pad.

1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rear door rear outside handle pad.

1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the screw.

2. Disengage the claw and remove the rear door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

1. Fully open the rear door glass.

2. Put protective tape around the rear door belt moulding assembly.

3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the clip and 6 claws, and remove the rear door belt moulding assembly.

   HINT:

   Tape the remover tip before use.

   NOTICE:

   Be careful when removing the moulding as there are claws attached to the front end of the moulding.

HINT:

When removing the rear door front window frame moulding, heat the vehicle body and rear door front window frame moulding using a heat light.

Heating temperature:

Item	Temperature
Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Moulding	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

NOTICE:

Do not heat the vehicle body and moulding excessively.

1. Using a heat light, heat the rear door front window frame moulding.

2. Disengage the clip.

3. Using a moulding remover, remove the rear door front window frame moulding.

1. Put a 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill bit into a drill.

2. Tape the drill bit without the portion of 5 mm (0.20 in.) from the tip covered.

   HINT:

   Tape the drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

3. Lightly press the drill bit against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the rivets, and remove the 7 rivets.

   NOTICE:

   1. Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
      
   2. Do not pry the rivets with the drill, as this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivets or the drill bit.
      
   3. Be careful when touching the drilled rivets, as they may become hot.
      

4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.

5. Remove the rear door upper window frame moulding from the door frame.

1. Using a heat light, heat the rear door outside stripe.

   Heating temperature:

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

   NOTICE:

   Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

2. Pull back an edge of the rear door outside stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.

1. Using a heat light, heat the rear door lower outside stripe.

   Heating temperature:

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

   NOTICE:

   Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

2. Pull back an edge of the rear door lower outside stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.
