Front Door - Disassembly(2007/12 - 2009/01)

1. Remove front door lower frame bracket garnish

2. Remove front door inside handle bezel plug

3. Remove assist grip cover

4. Remove courtesy light assembly

5. Remove front door trim board sub-assembly

6. Remove power window regulator master switch assembly

7. Remove front door wire (for driver side)

8. Remove front door inner glass weatherstrip

9. Remove front armrest base panel upper

10. Remove front door inside handle sub-assembly

11. Remove front no. 1 speaker assembly

12. Remove outer rear view mirror assembly

13. Remove front door service hole cover

14. Remove front door glass sub-assembly

15. Remove front door window regulator sub-assembly

16. Remove front power window regulator motor assembly

17. Remove front no. 1 door stiffener cushion

18. Remove front door glass run

19. Remove door frame garnish

20. Remove front door front lower frame sub-assembly

21. Remove front door rear lower frame sub-assembly

22. Remove front door outside handle cover

23. Remove front door outside handle assembly

24. Remove front door front outside handle pad

25. Remove front door rear outside handle pad

26. Remove front door lock assembly

27. Remove front door lock remote control cable assembly

28. Remove front door inside locking cable assembly

29. Remove front door outside handle frame sub-assembly

30. Remove front door check assembly

31. Remove front door weatherstrip

32. Remove front door belt moulding assembly

33. Remove front door rear window frame moulding

34. Remove front door upper window frame moulding

35. Remove front door stripe

36. Remove front door lower outside stripe

1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish.

1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 3 claws, and remove the front door inside handle bezel plug.

1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 6 claws and remove the assist grip cover.

1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the courtesy light assembly.

2. Disconnect the connector.

1. Remove the 3 screws and clip (A).

2. Using a clip remover, disengage the 9 clips.

3. Pull up the front door trim board in the direction indicated by the arrow.

4. Disengage the reference bosses from the front door panel.

5. Raise the front door trim board to disengage the 4 claws and remove the front door trim board together with the front door inner glass weatherstrip.

6. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the 3 screws and the power window regulator master switch assembly.

1. Disengage the clamp and remove the 2 screws and front door wire.

1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 clips as shown in the illustration and remove the front door inner glass weatherstrip from the front door trim board.

1. Remove the 7 screws.

2. Disengage the 4 claws and remove the front armrest base panel upper.

1. Disconnect the front door lock remote control cable and front door inside locking cable and remove the front door inside handle sub-assembly.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the 4 bolts and front No. 1 speaker assembly.

   NOTICE:

   Do not touch the cone part of the speaker.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Remove the 3 nuts.

3. Disengage the claw and remove the outer rear view mirror assembly.

1. Disconnect the connector and each clamp, and remove the front door service hole cover.

   HINT:

   Remove the remaining butyl tape on the door side.

1. Connect the front power window regulator motor assembly connector.

2. Connect the power window regulator master switch assembly and move the front door glass sub-assembly so that the door glass bolts can be seen.

3. Remove the 2 bolts.

   NOTICE:

   After the bolts are removed, the door glass may fall, causing damage.

4. Remove the front door glass sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

   NOTICE:

   Do not damage the door glass.

5. Disconnect the power window regulator master switch assembly and front power window regulator motor assembly connector.

1. Loosen the temporary bolt.

   NOTICE:

   Do not remove the temporary bolt. If the temporary bolt is removed, the front door window regulator may fall, causing damage.

2. Remove the 5 bolts.

3. Remove the front door window regulator sub-assembly and the power window regulator motor assembly front as a unit.

4. Remove the temporary bolt from the front door window regulator sub-assembly.

1. Using a "TORX" driver (T25), remove the 3 screws and the front power window regulator motor assembly.

1. Disengage the 2 claws.

2. Remove the double-sided tape and the front No. 1 door stiffener cushion.

1. Remove the front door glass run.

1. Disengage the clip and remove the door frame garnish.

1. Remove the 2 bolts and the front door front lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

1. Remove the bolt and the front door rear lower frame sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

1. Remove the hole plug.

2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), loosen the screw and remove the front door outside handle cover and the door lock key cylinder as a unit.

   HINT:

   The screw cannot be removed because it is integrated into the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door outside handle cover.

1. Remove the front door outside handle assembly as shown in the illustration.

1. Disengage the 3 claws and remove the front door front outside handle pad.

1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front door rear outside handle pad.

1. Disconnect the connector.

2. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the 3 screws.

3. Slide the front door lock assembly downward, pull out the front door lock open rod from the outside handle frame, and remove the front door lock assembly and cables as a unit.

4. Remove the front door lock open rod from the front door lock assembly.

5. Remove the door lock wiring harness seal from the front door lock assembly.

1. Remove the front door lock remote control cable assembly.

1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws.

   HINT:

   Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

2. Remove the front door inside locking cable assembly.

1. Using a "TORX" socket wrench (T30), remove the screw.

2. Disengage the claw and remove the front door outside handle frame sub-assembly.

1. Remove the 3 bolts and front door check assembly.

1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 19 clips and remove the front door weatherstrip.

1. Fully open the front door glass.

2. Put protective tape around the front door belt moulding assembly.

3. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and 5 claws, and remove the front door belt moulding assembly.

   HINT:

   Tape the remover tip before use.

   NOTICE:

   Be careful when removing the moulding as there are claws attached to the front and rear ends of the moulding.

HINT:

When removing the front door rear window frame moulding, heat the vehicle body and front door rear window frame moulding using a heat light.

Heating temperature:

Item	Temperature
Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
Moulding	20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

NOTICE:

Do not heat the vehicle body and moulding excessively.

1. Using a heat light, heat the front door rear window frame moulding.

2. Disengage the clip.

3. Using a moulding remover, remove the front door rear window frame moulding.

1. Put a 4 mm (0.16 in.) drill bit into a drill.

2. Tape the drill bit without the portion of 5 mm (0.20 in.) from the tip covered.

   HINT:

   Tape the drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep.

3. Lightly press the drill against the rivets, drill off the flanges of the rivets, and remove the 7 rivets.

   NOTICE:

   1. Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the rivet to turn and result in the rivet not being drilled through.
      
   2. Do not pry the rivets with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the rivets or the drill bit.
      
   3. Be careful when touching the drilled rivets as they may become hot.
      

4. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the rivet fragments and shavings from the drilled areas.

5. Remove the front door upper window frame moulding from the door frame.

1. Using a heat light, heat the front door stripe.

   Heating temperature:

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

   NOTICE:

   Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

2. Pull back an edge of the front door stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.

1. Using a heat light, heat the front door lower outside stripe.

   Heating temperature:

   Item	Temperature
   Vehicle Body	40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

   NOTICE:

   Do not heat the vehicle body excessively.

2. Pull back an edge of the front door lower outside stripe and pull it parallel to the vehicle body to pull it off.
