Title:

Fuel Injector

  1. Discharge fuel system pressure

  2. Disconnect cable from negative battery terminal

  3. Remove air cleaner cap sub-assembly

  4. Remove no. 1 engine cover sub-assembly

  5. Disconnect fuel tube sub-assembly

  6. Disconnect no. 2 ventilation hose

  7. Remove fuel delivery pipe with injector

  8. Remove fuel injector assembly

1. DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (*1). Camry

  2. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (*1).

  1. Disconnect the purge VSV connector (*2).

  1. Disconnect the 2 purge VSV vacuum hoses (*3).

  1. Disconnect the purge line hose from the clamp (*4).

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose. Camry

  2. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the air cleaner hose.

  1. Lock the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp, and then disconnect the No. 1 air cleaner hose from the throttle body. Camry

  2. Lock the No. 1 air cleaner hose clamp, and then disconnect the No. 1 air cleaner hose from the throttle body.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner cap. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 bolts and air cleaner cap.

  1. Remove the air cleaner filter element from the air cleaner case.



4. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the 2 nuts and cover. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 nuts and cover.



5. DISCONNECT FUEL TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.NOTICE: Check for foreign matter on the pipe and around the connector before disconnecting the quick connector. Clean the connector if necessary. Camry

  2. Remove the No. 1 fuel pipe clamp.

    NOTICE:
    Check for foreign matter on the pipe and around the connector before disconnecting the quick connector. Clean the connector if necessary.
  1. If the connector and pipe are stuck, pinch the connector, and push and pull the pipe to disconnect them.NOTICE: Do not use any tools in this procedure.Check for foreign matter on the sealing surface of the disconnected pipe. Clean it if necessary. Camry

  2. If the connector and pipe are stuck, pinch the connector, and push and pull the pipe to disconnect them.

    NOTICE:

    2. Check for foreign matter on the sealing surface of the disconnected pipe. Clean it if necessary.
  1. Separate the fuel tube from the fuel hose clamp. Camry

  2. Separate the fuel tube from the fuel hose clamp.



6. DISCONNECT NO. 2 VENTILATION HOSE
  1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the ventilation valve. Camry

  2. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose from the ventilation valve.



7. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE WITH INJECTOR
  1. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 wire harness clamps.

  1. Disconnect the 4 fuel injector connectors.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the fuel delivery pipe together with the 4 fuel injectors.NOTICE: Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when removing the fuel delivery pipe. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 bolts, then remove the fuel delivery pipe together with the 4 fuel injectors.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to drop the fuel injectors when removing the fuel delivery pipe.
  1. Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers from the cylinder head. Camry

  2. Remove the 2 delivery pipe spacers from the cylinder head.

  1. Remove the 4 insulators from the cylinder head.



8. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
  1. Pull out the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe. Camry

  2. Pull out the 4 injectors from the delivery pipe.

  1. Remove the 4 O-rings from the injectors.
