  1. Remove automatic transmission assembly (for 2wd)

  2. Remove automatic transmission assembly (for 4wd)

  3. Remove drive plate & ring gear sub-assembly

  4. Remove engine rear oil seal

1. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

3. REMOVE DRIVE PLATE & RING GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY
  1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.SST09213-70011 09330-00021 4Runner

  2. Using SST, hold the crankshaft.

  1. Remove the 8 bolts, front spacer, drive plate and rear spacer. 4Runner

  2. Remove the 8 bolts, front spacer, drive plate and rear spacer.



4. REMOVE ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL
  1. Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip. 4Runner

  2. Using a knife, cut off the oil seal lip.

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the oil seal.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the crankshaft.
    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
